Getting Started

1 Access Your Admin Panel

After registration, you received an email with your login credentials.

Check Your Email

Subject: "Welcome to AURA - Your AI Assistant is Ready!"

Contains: Username, temporary password, and admin panel link

  1. Go to: https://altiq.io/admin/
  2. Enter your username and password from the email
  3. Click "Sign In"
  4. Important: Change your password on first login (Settings → Account)
Tip: Bookmark your admin panel URL for easy access!

2 Complete Your Profile

Navigate to Settings → Branding to set up your company profile:

  • Company name
  • Brand color (affects chat widget appearance)
  • Logo upload (recommended: 200x200px PNG)
  • Welcome message for visitors
  • Contact email for notifications
Example Welcome Message: "Hi! 👋 I'm your AI assistant. I can help you with product information, pricing, support, and scheduling demos. How can I assist you today?"

3 Verify Your API Key

Your API key connects the chat widget to your knowledge base.

  1. Go to Settings → API Keys
  2. View your API key (click the eye icon to reveal)
  3. Copy it for later use when embedding the widget
Security Warning: Never share your API key publicly. Treat it like a password!

Understanding Your Dashboard

Your dashboard provides real-time insights into AURA's performance:

Total Conversations

Number of chat sessions initiated by visitors

Active Leads

Qualified leads captured by AURA

Resolution Rate

% of queries answered without handoff

Avg Response Time

How quickly AURA responds to queries

Dashboard Tip: Use the date range selector (top right) to view stats for different time periods: 7 days, 30 days, or custom range.

Knowledge Base Setup

1 Add Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

FAQs are the foundation of AURA's knowledge. Start with 10-20 common questions.

Adding an FAQ:
  1. Navigate to Knowledge Base tab
  2. Click "+ Add FAQ" button
  3. Enter the question (customer's perspective)
  4. Provide a clear, detailed answer
  5. Add tags/categories (optional)
  6. Click "Save"
Example FAQ: Question: "What are your business hours?" Answer: "We're open Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM EST. Our AI assistant is available 24/7 to answer common questions. For urgent matters outside business hours, please email support@yourcompany.com" Tags: hours, availability, support
Best Practices:
  • Write answers in your brand's voice
  • Include links to relevant pages
  • Keep answers concise (100-300 words)
  • Update FAQs regularly based on analytics

2 Import Website Content

AURA can learn from your existing website content.

  1. Go to Knowledge Base → Import
  2. Enter your website URL
  3. Click "Scan Website"
  4. Review detected pages
  5. Select pages to import
  6. Click "Import Selected"
Note: Website scanning may take 2-5 minutes depending on site size. AURA will extract text content from public pages.

3 Test Your Knowledge Base

Before going live, test AURA's responses:

  1. Go to Test Chat in the sidebar
  2. Ask sample questions your customers might ask
  3. Review answers for accuracy
  4. Add/update FAQs for questions AURA can't answer
Quality Checklist:
  • AURA answers 80%+ of test questions correctly
  • Responses match your brand voice
  • No outdated or incorrect information
  • Appropriate handoff triggers are set

Customization

Chat Widget Appearance

Go to Settings → Appearance to customize:

Visual Settings
  • Primary Color: Chat bubble color
  • Position: Bottom-right or bottom-left
  • Size: Small, medium, or large
  • Avatar: Bot icon or custom image
Message Settings
  • Welcome Message: First message shown
  • Offline Message: When unavailable
  • Bot Name: How AURA introduces itself
  • Language: Response language

Conversation Behavior

Configure how AURA handles different scenarios:

Lead Capture Settings
  • When to ask for email: After X messages or specific triggers
  • Required fields: Name, Email, Phone (choose which are required)
  • Lead qualification: Set criteria for "qualified lead"
Handoff Settings
  • Trigger phrases: "talk to human", "speak with agent", etc.
  • Handoff method: Email notification or live chat (if integrated)
  • Business hours: Auto-handoff only during specific hours

Embedding on Your Website

1 Get Your Embed Code

  1. Go to Settings → Embed Code
  2. Copy the provided script snippet
  3. The code looks like this:

2 Install on Your Website

Choose your installation method based on your platform:

  1. Go to Appearance → Theme Editor
  2. Find footer.php or use a footer widget
  3. Paste the embed code before </body>
  4. Save and clear cache

Or use a plugin like "Insert Headers and Footers"

  1. Go to Online Store → Themes
  2. Click Actions → Edit Code
  3. Open theme.liquid
  4. Paste embed code before </body>
  5. Save

Static HTML: Paste code before </body> tag

React/Next.js: Add to _app.js or layout component using dangerouslySetInnerHTML or React Helmet

Vue/Nuxt: Add to app.vue or layout using v-html or head script injection

Pro Tip: Test the widget in a staging environment before deploying to production.

3 Verify Installation

  1. Visit your website
  2. Look for the AURA chat bubble in the corner
  3. Click it and send a test message
  4. Check admin panel → Recent Activity to see the conversation
Installation Successful!

Your AI assistant is now live and ready to help visitors.

Managing Leads

Viewing Leads

Go to Leads tab to see all captured leads:

  • New Leads: Uncontacted prospects
  • Qualified Leads: High-intent visitors
  • Conversation History: Full chat transcript
  • Contact Info: Name, email, phone
Filtering Tips: Use filters to find leads by date, qualification status, or source.

Lead Notifications

Get notified when new leads arrive:

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications
  2. Enable Email Notifications for New Leads
  3. Add email addresses (comma-separated for multiple)
  4. Choose notification frequency: Instant or Daily Digest
Example: sales@company.com, john@company.com

Export Leads

Export leads to your CRM or spreadsheet:

  1. Go to Leads tab
  2. Use filters to select desired leads
  3. Click "Export" button
  4. Choose format: CSV or JSON
  5. Download file

CSV includes: Name, Email, Phone, Lead Score, Captured Date, Conversation Summary

Conversation Analytics

Go to Analytics tab to view:

  • Total conversations

Top Questions Report

See what visitors are asking most:

  1. Go to Analytics → Top Questions
  2. Review the most common queries
  3. Identify knowledge gaps
  4. Add missing FAQs
  5. Improve existing answers
Optimization Tip: Review this report weekly to continuously improve AURA's knowledge base.

Scheduled Responses

Set up auto-responses for specific times or events:

  1. Go to Settings → Schedules
  2. Click "+ Add Schedule"
  3. Configure trigger (time-based or event-based)

Multi-User Access

Troubleshooting

Common Issues & Solutions

Possible causes:
  • Embed code not properly installed
  • JavaScript blocked by browser/extension
  • Conflicting scripts on page
  • Incorrect API key
Solutions:
  1. Check browser console for errors (F12)
  2. Verify embed code is before </body> tag
  3. Disable ad blockers temporarily
  4. Confirm API key matches admin panel
  5. Clear browser cache and reload

Solutions:
  1. Review and update relevant FAQs
  2. Add more specific questions/answers
  3. Check for outdated information
  4. Use Test Chat to verify responses
  5. Review Analytics → Unanswered Questions

Check:
  1. Settings → Notifications → Email enabled
  2. Email address is correct

  4. Add noreply@altiq.io to contacts
  5. Verify SMTP settings if using custom email

Start with 15-25 FAQs covering your most common customer questions. You can always add more based on analytics showing what visitors are asking.

Yes! AURA can detect and respond in multiple languages. Add FAQs in different languages, and AURA will match responses to the visitor's language.

AURA will politely indicate it doesn't have that information and offer to connect the visitor with your team via email or live handoff.
